If you did any selling at any of these places, any of these could be considered retail sales.

Toys R Us and the supermarket would qualify as retail sales whereas the other positions you have held would fall into the hospitality and entertainment areas.

All of your work experience will be transferrable to retail sales easily. Wishing you success.

Retail sales are where you sell to the end consumer. Toys R Us is retail sales because the buyer is going to use the toy or at least give it as a gift to someone to use. The buyer at Toys R Us isn’t going to resell the item.

Wholesale sales are when you sell in bulk to retailers or distributors who will then resell the product.

    Good luck on the job.

Yes, you could use the cash register experience as retail sale! Emphasize you work with the public, you are a people person and can sell their product as you have done before. State the job experience, or skills you have to show them you qualify for the position they offer. Ex. You work well with the public, Organized and easily trainable, Have excellent “computer or cash register skills”, Willing to problem solve and put the customer fist etc. etc.

Though all your previous jobs can be considered “retail”, the most experience you have had in “Retail Sales” would be the supermarket and more so,Toys R Us. Reason being: Retail sales involves a company (your boss) which purchases their stock/supplies from a Wholesaler (manufacturer) and then resales (retail) to their customers. Experience in retail is usually more of a question as to customer service (working w/ the public)and too, the cash register/money exchanges.
