There’s a school of thought that says when you are out in the great outdoors that there’s nothing that beats a camp fire. The saying obviously comes from before the days of portable gas grills, because now you can set up your grill and have your meal cooking in an instant. Let’s face it, open fires never were that efficient for cooking food on. Everything was always underdone or overcooked. There’s no regularity of heat which is where the grill scores so many points. On the other hand, a camp fire is great for warmth, sitting around and telling stories - but there’s no reason you can’t do that while your steak is cooking on the grill.
